For Leagues using Member Essentials Plus and Little Green Light (LGL), this article will show how to sync data between the two platforms. Little Green Light (LGL) is an affordable cloud-based software service built specifically to help nonprofit fundraising teams manage their donors and donor activities.


The Member Essentials to Little Green Light sync feature is designed to sync current member profiles in ME to constituent records in LGL and to sync donations/transactions from current members in ME to LGL as gift records.  The transaction types that will sync are defined in the tool Accounting Reference Configuration.  See the article > Creating Accounting Reference Codes.  A transaction eligible to sync will appear in Little Green Light as a gift record attached to the member's constituent record.  

Note the sync is not designed to sync financial transactions from non-members or former members.  The sync occurs in one direction, from ME to LGL.

Before setting up the integration, please check your LGL account to ensure the AJLI section has been added to the constituent records, and AJLI IDs have been entered for existing member records. 

1) Select any constituent record.

2) Verify there is a section titled AJLI data.  This is required by the integration. 

3) For any existing constituent records representing a League member, enter the AJLI ID in this section.  This will avoid a duplicate record created by the sync process.  The AJLI ID can be found in the member's Member Essentials profile.


To set up the integration, follow these steps.
1) Send the LGL API key.  In LGL , go to Settings > Integration settings > Custom Integrations > LGL API.  If no key has been created yet, below select API key, choose Member Essentials and there will be a blue button to generate the key.

2) Send the URL of your League's Little Green Light Account (Example  https://jrleaguesample.littlegreenlight.com/users/9935492) 

3) Send the list of member statuses that should be synced to LGL.  (Your League's local statuses appear under Admin > Management > Status Management) 

4) If you currently have any constituent records in LGL which are also Members, for those records:
  1. Go to the AJLI data section of the constituent profile.
  2. Fill-in the Member's AJLI ID.  You can find this in Member Essentials in the Member's profile or you can export the Member Roster - Current from the Query Tool.

To avoid duplicates, please complete this step prior to emailing Member Essentials to turn on the integration.
